Port Townsend Sights, WA - Jul 2009

Just a few more photos that I took from our cool site at Point Hudson Marina & RV Park in Port Townsend. This was a nuclear submarine being escorted through Puget Sound on its way to the Navy's submarine base at Bangor, WA. There are two red escort ships on either side, but you can see the front of the sub sticking up to the right of the ship.
We saw lots and lots of sailboats.

This one was available for charter and we saw it going out for many a sunset cruise.

Another tour boat -- this one looked like a pirate ship. This area seems to be a favorite for classic boat enthusiasts. There was a building near the marina that housed the Wooden Boat Foundation and we saw posters advertising a Wooden Boat Festival.

The lighthouse at Fort Worden. This was taken at max zoom on my camera, so the image is fuzzy, but as a result, it looks like a pastel drawing.

The ferry between Port Townsend and Whidbey Island.

The Norwegian Star cruise ship with Mt Baker in the background. I liked the smiling face painted on the bow of the ship.

This looks sort of like a Monet image. This lady came and sat down on the shore and meditated for awhile -- I thought her sun bonnet was classic. It helped the scene when a crane came wandering by and began checking her out.
