Belfair SP - Belfair, WA - Jun 2009

On Monday, we moved to Belfair State Park near Bremerton, Washington and along the Hood Canal. We had a great waterfront site and enjoyed the view. We hadn't planned to stop here, but we saw the sign for the park and said "what the heck." So we took a detour and just happened upon a pretty park and a nice site.

This popular park was booked for the upcoming weekend and our view site was only available for two nights, so that's all we stayed. We did take note of the better sites just in case we decide to return to this area someday. We've discovered that most of the Washington State Parks are on a reservation system and most of the sites are booked for the summer.

Next to the campground and alongside the Hood Canal is a nice walking path. We enjoyed several nice walks along the water.

Trying to get the dogs to hold still for a picture can be a challenge. In this posed photo, with the Hood Canal in the background, they are both looking at the camera, but you can see that I've got a firm grip on them.

When I let go -- you can see what happens -- ha ha.

Sometimes, the do pose on their own. I had just trimmed Scotty's fur (after letting it grow for nearly six months) and he looked so cute.

Just a few pics of pretty things around the area. I liked the reflection of this log in the water.

A killdeer that "owned" this log in front of our campsite. He was very protective of it -- even scolding the dogs if they got too close.

There are lots of houses across the canal -- this three-story one cast a very tall reflection.
