Still in Bend, OR - May 2009
We're still in Bend, Oregon -- weather has improved although last weekend we had highs near 90 degrees. Seems like we jumped right from winter to summer. According to the weatherman, things are back to normal now and we should have lovely spring days for the rest of our stay.
While here, we've been eating, visiting, eating, shopping, eating, touring, eating, doing chores....get my drift -- ha ha! Bend has so many yummy restaurants to chose from and we've enjoyed several of them.
Ever since discovering the excellent green chili cheeseburgers at the world famous Buckhorn Tavern in San Antonio, New Mexico, Frank has been on a quest to find a comparable burger in every place that we stop. He found a close second at Bronco Billy's in Sisters, Oregon and a runner-up at Pilot Drive-In in Bend. Another good one was discovered at the Terrebonne Depot in Terrebonne, Oregon. Had to take a picture of the massive burgers at Pilot Drive-In -- oh so good too. These are their "regular sized" burgers. They have one that is even bigger -- geez.
