Blue Skies - Bend, OR - May 2009

Well, we haven't had any precipitation in about 23 hours -- yee haw! Both mornings have begun with a bit of sunshine and blue skies, but they quickly turned to gray and cloudy towards noon. As I sit here looking out the window, it appears that this afternoon will not be different and we may get a few showers. I hurried outside this morning to take a picture of the blue sky.

We took a drive to Pilot Butte State Park yesterday in hopes of getting a clear view out over the city, but before we made it up the drive to the top of the butte, the clouds rolled in and it began to rain. I did snap a quick picture before the rain came down and the view was obscured.

This has pretty much been our view for 14 days -- rain and snow and cloudy skies. The ground is positively soggy.

Another snowy day from last weekend. It snowed for a couple of hours in the morning, but was pretty much melted by the afternoon.
The weather forecast keeps teasing us with reports of "partly sunny" days ahead, hopefully they will happen. We also are looking forward to Saturday when the daytime high will be 61 degrees. Maybe we'll be able to shed our coats and once again bask in the warm sunshine.
