Hurricane Ridge, WA - Jun 2009

One day we drove up to Olympic National Park to the top of Hurricane Ridge. The drive up to the top is a mere 17 miles long and it takes you from sea level to 5,300' in that distance. The views from the top are awesome. The meadows were just beginning to sprout wildflowers. Mt Olympus was a bit shrouded by clouds, but we still got a good view of the Olympic Range.

There was a small herd of deer grazing about the grass near the Visitor Center. We laughed and said they must be getting paid to wander around and pose for pictures.

There was still lots of snow up at the top.

But the roads were clear except for this one section of the parking lot.
The view into Port Angeles was mostly obscured by clouds, but it was still a pretty view. We hope to return on a clearer day for better pics.
