Still at Salt Creek, WA - Jul 2009

Happy 4th of July! We're still at Salt Creek Recreation Area near Port Angeles, WA. We've been here 25 days now and are still loving it. We could probably stay longer, but feel we have been "hogging" the best first-come-first-served site in the park, so it's about time to move on and let someone else enjoy this great spot. We'll be in this area for a few more days and then plan to head over to the coast for awhile.

We've been keeping busy being tourists and I've taken tons of pictures and now I need to review them, edit them and catch up on my blog. Stay tuned as I try and work my way through hundreds of photos from the past three weeks. In the meantime, here is an appropriate pic for today.

There are two bald eagles that live in Crescent Bay and we walk over every evening to see if we can spot them. Usually, we see them soaring from the treetops and occasionally we see one diving for fish. Last night they were both perched at the top of the tree and I was able to get a photo of both of them. The higher up eagle is easy to spot, the second one is down and to the right -- its white head and orange feet are visible.
