Elephant Butte SP -- Nov 2010
We left Utah one day too late and ended up hitting a little snow at Towaoc, CO. We stopped at the RV park at the Ute Mountain Casino and spent the night. The ice and snow melted by 11:00 am and we were off again.
We had another one-night stop at Coronado Campground park near Bernalillo, NM. This is a pretty cute park run by the town and now on the Passport America plan. We got a site right on the Rio Grande River with a great view of the Sandia mountains. The sites are close together, but the view can't be beat.
We arrived at Elephant Butte Lake and got our favorite spot at the South Monticello campground. From there we had a great view of the lake and the mountains. I just love it when the moon comes over the mountain. Gee, there's a song in there somewhere -- ha!
A beautiful sunrise taken from our bedroom window. Not a bad way to wake up. We stayed here through Thanksgiving.
