Sportsman CG - Aberdeen, ID - Aug 2006

Sportsman Campground on the American Falls reservoir and near the town of Aberdeen, Idaho -- was just another overnighter. It was a nice stop on our way to the next destination. This one was actually pretty nice -- especially because we were just about the only campers there. Had it been filled, it wouldn't have been as pleasant as the sites were pretty close together. We had a nice grassy site with lots of shade. Witihout neighbors, we felt comfortable letting the dogs off leash and they enjoyed romping in the grass.

The lake wasn't in viewing distance, but was a short walk away. The park had a paved walking trail that went around the lake and we enjoyed a stroll that afternoon. The trail went right by a sheep ranch and in amongst the sheep was a very friendly llama that had to come check us out as we walked by. We named her "Dolly".
