And More Balloons - Oct 2008

Tuesday morning arrived with sunshine, beautiful blue skies and calm winds -- perfect conditions for the balloons to float over the RV parking area and giving us great, up-close views. Enjoy the pics!

Mass ascension -- over 600 balloons were registered -- seemed like most of them were in the air this morning.

The balloon launch is early -- usually beginning before 7:00 am and continuing for nearly two hours. Some folks don't even change out of their flannel nightgowns to watch the show.

Spiderman looming above us.

This stork was one of the largest of the balloons and also a new entry this year.

Go Texas! There is a Texas flag on the left side of this one.

Looking up into a spiral of color.

Jazzy and Charles enjoying a ride.

The paisley balloon has an especially colorful and intricate design.

The Creamland Dairy cow -- another crowd favorite.

Another view of the Creamland Cow -- looking like it's stepping off of the roof of an RV. The cow's claim to fame is that it's one of the largest of the balloons and also that it's the only one where the basket is not the lowest part of the balloon.

Darth Vader and Piggy.

A golden dragon shining bright in the morning sun.

Another new shape this year -- a clown fish.

Not all of the balloons have perfect landings. This castle shape came down right in the middle of the RV parking area -- causing quite a few people to scurry out of it's way.

Yes -- Life is Good -- especially when you're surrounded by balloons.
