Llano River Park - Llano, TX - Apr 2007

One of our favorite places to stay when visiting the Texas Hill Country is Llano City RV Park. It's not much more than a parking lot with stripes separating the spaces, but it sits on a bluff and overlooks the lush City Park and the lovely Llano River. At $15 per night for full hookups, it's not a bad deal either. The other great feature of this park is that it's 3 blocks from Cooper's Barbecue (our favorite barbecue place in Texas) and 1 block from Chrissy's Bakery (they make sweet German pretzels that are to die for!)

The park has the requisite green grass, large oaks and spring wildflowers, but it also has huge pink-granite boulders that are great fun to climb on and around. There is also a walking trail down by the river and that makes for a scenic exercise walk every day.

We've stayed at this park four different times - each one during the peak wildflower blooming season and we've never seen it full - where all the sites are occupied. This time was especially nice since we were the only ones parked in our section.
